Facility at a Glance
Inside the Engineering & Operations Center
A purpose-built facility designed around the technical requirements of legacy semiconductor manufacturing assets.

Two Paths Through the Engineering & Operations Center
BTG supports both customer-owned equipment projects and complete factory-refurbishment programs through one controlled engineering environment.
Acquire a Refurbished System
BTG offers factory-refurbished legacy KLA semiconductor metrology and inspection systems — fully evaluated, rebuilt to engineering standard, and validated before shipment.
Each available system has been through the BTG factory refurbishment program in the Irvine Engineering & Operations Center. Systems are not resold as-found — every unit is assessed, refurbished to a defined scope, and validated against BTG's engineering standard before it leaves the facility.
- Configuration documentation
- Mechanical & electrical evaluation
- Component replacement as needed
- Cleanroom refurbishment
- Software & configuration verification
- Functional testing
- System-level validation
- BTG engineering standard sign-off
- Shipment & installation support
- Ongoing lifecycle support
Factory Refurbishment Programs
BTG provides factory refurbishment programs across BTG-supported legacy semiconductor manufacturing systems.
Factory refurbishment is more than cleaning, cosmetic restoration, or replacing failed parts. The process is developed around the system's configuration, condition, intended application, customer requirements, and long-term support strategy.
- Incoming configuration review
- System condition assessment
- Mechanical and electrical evaluation
- Subsystem inspection
- Repair and component replacement
- Preventive maintenance
- Obsolescence review
- Software and configuration verification
- Cleaning and controlled reassembly
- Functional testing
- System-level validation
- Documentation
- Customer review and acceptance planning
- Shipment and installation support
The exact refurbishment scope is defined for each system and project.
